Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a unique pop star: a superstar who crossed over completely from the world of country music to pop culture, becoming a pop icon that will endure forever, and sweeping over every corner of the globe. Swift is shedding her roots in the country as if it were a second-skin and has proven herself to be one of the most savvy pop singer/songwriter within her generation. She has the ability to tap into the current trend and make it her own. The skills she displayed were apparent on her first hits, particularly the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out who she was and in the process, finding the mass market. The album ended up with a lot of legs not only in the U.S. where it racked the record with six platinum singles, thanks to Top Ten hits Love Story and You Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success with Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift was able to consolidate her success with Speak Now almost two year after. The singer's popularity increased over the course of her subsequent three albums: Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in a genre where she belonged. As she cut her style with the stripped-down releases of 2020, folklore, and Evermore, she still remained at the top. It was a position that was confirmed with the re-recordings she had made from her earlier catalog, as along with Midnights which was her chart-topping synth heavy 2022 album.
